Many times, such as during the Path of Lockdown, many people go back to the same question.

Where was God?

The answer I have found while traveling along my Spiritual Path is They are in the same place They always are.

Standing on our Spiritual Path waiting for us to exit the train of the Maya Express.

The Maya Express

The Maya Express is where we go to express our free will. Where all our material world life mostly happens.

We can renounce the train all together and only walk our Path. Give up everything. Sit in seclusion in some temple, synagogue, mosque or church for life.

But what fun is that? *Whispers the Maya Express*

We grow up on the train, going from elementary table to middle school all the way on up. Our tables mostly planned for us as children.

There are some pockets of the world where children are raised not having to worry about material world things and are taught how to walk their own spiritual path without forcing it. No worries about money, or allowances or who wears what clothes/toys are in fashion.

But what fun is that? *Whispers the Maya Express*

Sure, we get dressed up on Sundays and sometimes step on our path for an hour at our place of worship; but most the time we just get dressed up to talk to people and stay on the train.

Maybe you show up for that one whole hour and participate; but not participate in the religious institution outside that one hour a week and help the community as a whole.

There are many people who everyday show up to their religious practice. Making sure to start the morning off talking to their Spiritual Guide with prayers and routines. They visit their place of worship often and participate in building the community around it.

But what fun is that? *Whispers the Maya Express*

See the job of The Maya Express is to keep us off our path. To keep us from our prayers being meaningful.

Does Prayer not count on the Maya Express?

As I similarly before mentioned in a past post.

We tend to treat prayer as some telethon goal. If we fill it up, the reward is the prayer answered. That if we all just pray enough, it will go away or fix things.

Prayer isn’t supposed to be about fixing the problem with whatever the person is going through on the train cart.

When you truly, with full intention, pray for someone, you never pray for God to fix them.

You can only pray for Gods light to shine bright enough to guide them back onto their own individual path. God and the individual being prayed for ultimately decides the result.

See our Path isn’t on the train.

We can step on and off the train all day every day and work on our path while weaving off and on like subway stops.

Getting on the train to sit at the “meeting table”; but stepping onto your Path to work while listening to music from your Spiritual Path.

Stepping on the train to drive to the school pickup line; but stepping onto your Path while listening to a Spiritual Podcast.

The point is to constantly, keep bringing our Spiritual Guide to our attention while we navigate this material world called the Maya Express. Thats the only way we prevent the windows from being covered in the material worlds dust, dirt and grime.

But Where was God?

Our Spiritual Guide is always where we left Them. How often do we pray “oh God please do this small thing (win this scratch off ticket) and I promise I’ll go to church on Sundays”. Then it happens $10 and we say “I’ll try to show up Sunday”. Knowing we have no intentions to.

You see what many people fail to realize is, when you make a prayer your heart has no intention of following through on, your Spiritual Guide knows this. Your Spiritual Guide knows the intent of your heart.

They hear your prayer but don’t see you on your Path. They see you still on the train pretending to walk your Path. Your intentions are to make your material Maya Express life easier. Not to advance your Spiritual Path.

Make Your Prayer About God Not You

When you say a prayer for someone as a group in church do you actually with your heart give full intention to pray to God for those persons or do you say them out of obligation; because the prayer is what you think is all that’s needed?

Do you pray for God to “fix them” for what you perceive the issue or do you pray for God to shine Their light on the persons. So they can find their path to God and decide for themselves what to do next?

See most our prayers for our kids or spouses or friends isn’t to have them walk their Path with their Spiritual Guide; but to make our “real” world Maya Express life easier.

This way we aren’t inconvenienced in our daily lives or worse lose our friends and families to moving on to the next cart. We become possessive of the literal SOULS of those around us that we Love. We think we “own” our children. That they aren’t allowed to freely think, and we resist them growing older and being themselves. Some force their children up until they are adults to live a certain way.

“We set the tables out for them in the order we thought was best for them, dammit they better be appreciative”.

Please God I don’t care what they need for their Spiritual Path or for even my own Spiritual Growth.

I want them in my life still let them live (make them live a life I agree with). Don’t let them die (or make them change) and leave me because I don’t want their souls apart from me.

I’m not emotionally prepared, so please God, I pray, stop both of us from progressing on our Spiritual Paths and keep them on my Maya Express train cart a little longer.”

We have all made the prayers. They are selfish. We know they are. They could be hurting, and we know it’s what’s best for them, but letting go requires releasing the Love connection. Just remember, it’s temporary. You will meet again someday on the Path of Love.

Take heart though, our prayers aren’t unheard. The prayers do shine the light from our Spiritual Guide onto us more if we are lost. They also shine a light on whom we pray for as well, maybe helping them on their path more.

No such thing as coincidences.

When necessary as we try to find our way back. God will send messengers to give us nudges. We can call them *God winks* *kismet* *Krishna miracles* that make us maybe think we are making our way down the right path.

Of course Maya will send out doubt and skepticism to fight back. But when we are true to heart, we can combat just about anything.

That’s why for now on I’m going to say a prayer for someone each evening. Not that someone is fixed, but that their path to their Spiritual Guide is brightened up a little more brighter.

Maybe just maybe we can bring each others paths to our own Spiritual Guides and see for ourselves the answer to the question

Where Was God?

  1. Path of Walking – My Atma's Seva Avatar

[…] Where is God, my Spiritual Guide through all this? Standing there waiting for me to ask for a hand back up. We just sit there. We have this feeling of personal disgust that we fell again.Every Time. But not our Spiritual Guide. They are standing there with Love and compassion and Their hand extended to help us up the second we ask. Every Time. […]
