Path of Routine

One of the paths we create throughout our lives is the Path of Routine. Routines are essential to all soul’s lives. Ask my daughters cat Finn when his bowl isn’t completely full first thing in the morning or when I’m not taking my dogs for a walk.

We need routines to help us stay on our Spiritual Path as well. Morning prayers, gratitude, maybe some Yoga, walking the dogs, etc.

When we keep our focus on our routines, we find ourselves walking our paths for many hours in the mornings.

What we have to be careful of is making the path of Routine too rigid. Then when life bends such as when we oversleep (I literally overslept this morning), sick, travel, we find our life is in chaos not order.

We crash quickly, and the Maya Express sends us down darker paths.

Sometimes though, we get a good routine going. Flexible and not everything is required each day. Gratitude and Prayers are there, Yoga if i have time for example. We are flexible. Everything is good.

Many times, when we are in a good place, we find ourselves so happy with our path.

Then the Maya Express will deploy the weapon of complacency.

Path of Complacency

What happens during the Path of Complacency is while we are doing our normal day to days routines, that is when Maya gets to work.

First, they deploy Just this once”.

I don’t need to go to temple/church this week. Just not feeling it. (FYI when not feeling it, is the first sign you NEED TO GO)

I have been going for weeks in a row. I can miss it just this once.

I overslept and don’t have time to do my morning gratitude and prayers. It’s okay to skip it just this once.

I have been doing my exercise program diligently. Even though I know I am so close to my goal, it’s okay to skip a class just this once.

Eventually the Maya Express and Complacency gets to work with the next tool in their arsenal.

Maybe next time

I know we skipped church the last couple weeks but, maybe next time.

I know it’s been a month with no gratitude writing or morning prayers. Staying up late binging tv is making morning routines difficult, maybe next time.

Really feeling out of shape. My pants are too tight. I really need to walk and do Yoga again. Just so sore right now (Usually this is due to lack of movement, and needs more), maybe next time.

With Complacency in full affect, they end with

One of these days

I’ll start X-Y-Z back up, one of these days

As Complacency pulls us out of our routines, we set about to follow our path; it darkens the windows on the Maya Express. Eventually we don’t notice how long it has been since we stepped back on our Spiritual Path.

The gamer tables sponsored by the makers of Consoles and Micro-Transactions used to be played for fun, now are becoming an obsession again.

Whether on our phones or our consoles, playing games are great. They can keep our minds sharp, our critical thinking improved, and is a good release from the stress of day-to-day life on the Maya Express.

Being a product that is supposed to hinder our spiritual progress, Maya will switch it around and make us forget everything in life we are working on. Even using the ploy of micro-transactions to require us spend more of our life working so we can afford to keep playing.

All the while we engross ourselves in hundreds of hours of gameplay.

The Maya Express Binge Watch Brigade will keep you glued to the drama of the same events you witnessed time and time again. Feeling the anxiety; yet, knowing it will turn out okay in the end.

Those moments its like we are 5 years old again watching the same ice-cold movie, about not holding on, and building meltable creatures. Played on repeat over and over and over.

Television Shows we would watch one night a week with those in our homes, becomes a binge until every season and every franchise of that science fiction show I love so much is watched again! The show that has now been watched for the eighth time.

Let’s disregard the fact I know every line from every single episode.

Work becomes an obsession. Whether it’s our employer or we are self-employed, we become completely lost in our work.

Focusing on some deadline that once we meet it, there will be a new deadline in the ever-ending marathon of the Maya Express Capitalism table.

We think we are “providing for our family” by overtaxing ourselves and under caring for our health and others.

Days become weeks. Weeks become months. Months turn into a year. Sure, you occasionally attend an event or visit a holy place; but you aren’t attending the events on your Spiritual Path.

You are still on the train.

Sitting at the Maya Express Path of Religion table. A table that gives us the illusion of our Spiritual Path, but on the train still.

Unfortunately, now you have become fully enveloped into the Maya Express Path of Complacency.

We can defend from the Path of Complacency with a bend don’t break Path of Routine.

Routines are like a foot rail along the edge of our path. Keeping us from straying too far off.

Thats how it’s supposed to work at least.

Unfortunately, many times the Path of Complacency is so tricky that we completely don’t realize we are lost, until it’s too late, and we find ourselves walking the Path of Maya.

Yours Forever Grateful
