The title is translated as “Great Bharat (India)”. The epic poem. The story that contains the Bhagavad Gita – The most sacred of spiritual texts.

The Mahābhārata is the longest poem ever written. At over 100,000 slokas/verses and 200,000 lines the epic poem was memorized generation after generation. Imagine remembering 1.8-million-word long poem. I can’t even remember my own kids phone numbers

It is my favorite Spiritual Story.

It holds to every genre, drama, romance, scandal, comedy, horror, superhero, action, sports, redemption, spirituality; it has it all.

There are so many interpretations and translations I actually found myself collecting many different editions over the years.

The most popular seemed to be Mahabharata by Krishna Dharma. There’s the comic book version. It gave images rather than words in some spots that helped convey the story for me, that I missed in others.

There are a few I haven’t read yet. But the stories from all versions are a great way to be inspired to conquer the world.

New to the story? Whether practicing Hindu or just someone looking for an amazing spiritual journey; this story could transform the life of the very reader as the read it.

Most translations are presented in more dramatic format than the poem itself, but to hear the slokas read actually is quite beautiful as well.

I encourage anyone to go their local library and check out a version for themselves. If you are out and about near some secondhand stores, feel free to find me a version I dont have yet.

Yours Forever Grateful.
